A Guide to Cooking With Aphrodisiacs
A Conceptual Cookbook
The assignment was to design a conceptual recipe book, based on a topic of choice,applying the typographic principles to express the concept visually.I chose to focus on the recipes that utilize aphrodisiac ingredients. I used sensual photography, delicate body copy type, and fluid type setting, to express the unique qualities of the food.
My concept revolved around the masculine and the feminine energies living together on the pages of the book, creating a harmonious and balanced design. To add the masculine feeling to the design, I used a bold sans serif for the chapterbreaks, a more dramatic lighting in food photography, as well as sharp right angles throughout the book pages.
